In this retro clip released in 1959 from the Rio Bravo western, a very young Ricky Nelson sings a heartfelt cowboy tune that is so difficult to sing to evoke the feelings of the audience that even John Wayne can’t help but sing along.

For those who are young and don’t understand what it’s about, this is Rio Bravo, a 1959 American western produced and directed by Howard Hawks starring John Wayne, Dean Martin, Ricky Nelson, Angie Dickinson, Walter Brennan and Ward Bond

Throughout his career, John Wayne became famous for his character.Throughout his career, he was one of the coolest and bravest characters on the movie screen. He was both a soldier and a cowboy, and he was always amazing.Wayne was a professional at maintaining a serious demeanor, which made him one of the most memorable actors of his generation.

However, in this clip from the 1959 film Rio Bravo, Wayne’s character shows a rare side when he joins Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson in the song.

Written by Jules Fartman and Lee Brackett based on the short story “Rio Bravo” by B.H. McCampbell, in this film, the sheriff of Rio Bravo, Texas, arrests the brother of a local rancher to help his drunken assistant.

With the help of a cripple and a young gunslinger, they restrain the rancher’s gang. Rio Bravo was shot on location at Old Tucson Studios outside Tucson, Arizona, in Technicolor. In 2014, the Library of Congress recognized Rio Bravo as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” and included it in the National Film Registry.
