Young boy dances to Baba Harare’s “The Reason Why”. Baba Harare is a Zimbabwean jiti musician who played lead guitar in Jah Prayzah before starting his solo career. He fronts the band The City Vibration and is best known for his 2017 hit “The Reason Why”. He was born Brave Man Chizvino to Gibson Chizvino and Fadzai Mawanza (mother). Baba Harare was born last in a family of seven, four boys and three girls.

Jah Praiza’s former manager Fielda Muchabaiva gave him the name Baba Harare when his wife gave birth in Harare, despite their plans for her to give birth in the countryside. Muchabaiva, commonly known in music circles as Mama Filo, joked that the child should be named Harare, hence the name Baba Harare.
