Meet the world’s shortest woman… ?VIDEO

Jyoti was born on December 16, 1993 in Nagpur, central India. According to her mother Ranjana, she was of average height until she was five years old. However, at that moment, it became apparent that some disorder was hindering her growth.

It was subsequently revealed that she had a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia and would never grow above a certain height. From the age of four, Jyoti went to school with children of normal height, although she was provided with a desk and chair more suitable for her small stature.

She first gained worldwide attention in 2009 when she appeared on Fuji TV’s Bikkuri Chojin 100 Special No.2. She was found to be only 61.95 cm (2 ft) tall by doctors on the show, confirming her title as the shortest living teenager (female). Remarkably, at only 5.4 kg (12 lb), she only weighed 4 kg (9 lb) more than her birth weight.
