Liverpool supporters greeted the players and their supporters in front of the almost full crowd at Anfield with the heartbreaking song You’ll Never Walk Alone.

After nearly 18 months of waiting, large crowds are finally back on Anfield Road, with the club anthem even more soulful than usual after nearly a year and a half away.

Kick-off was delayed by 30 minutes as Liverpool apologized for problems with the new ticketing system in place, but worries eased as fans finally got a chance to greet the team ahead of the new season. The crowd at Anfield showed what the players missed last season as chants erupted throughout the stadium.
