WestJet employee Laura Caruso made an emotional statement in-flight on National Teacher’s Day. She shared how Miss O’Connell, who taught high school English and music, changed his life.

She says. “This lady made me love Shakespeare, made me play the piano. Thank you, Miss O’Connell. I love you”: She added that he now has a master’s degree in piano and can write essays because of it. She then ran down the aisle as all the passengers watched as he was reunited with his beloved teacher after 30 years.

“It was very emotional, we both cried a lot, I was in complete shock when I saw him because he saved me from so much,” Laura said.
