A newborn baby is like a beautiful flower that can make anyone happy. Ines and Sandro Lavalle are raising a newborn boy, Gianni. He was born six weeks premature and had trouble swallowing and breathing. The boy spent 50 days in the intensive care unit. However, he recovered from his troubles thanks to the constant care of the medical team. It was hard for the parents to see their son in such pain.

Their son’s condition was so bad that during his 50 days in the ICU, Gianni’s baby had bouts of bradycardia, also known as a period when the baby couldn’t breathe. As a result, the heart rate will soon drop. His condition would get better within 3-4 days and then worsen again, making his parents nervous and sad. However, Baby Gianni was strong and healed beautifully.

After their son’s recovery, Ines and Sandro decided to surprise a couple of new grandparents. They wanted to capture the reaction of their parents when they saw their grandson on their doorstep. Sandro’s parents are Bernardina and Renato, and Ines’ parents are Marianna and Gianni. Both grandparents live in Toronto, Canada. So, Ines and Sandro leave little Gianni on the doorstep of their parents’ house and record the emotional reaction of their grandparents.
