When Sarah “Paddy” Jones first took to the stage with her dance partner Nico Espinosa on Britain’s Got Talent, people only saw the adorable grandma. They did not know that Paddy had been studying classical dance since she was 2.5 years old, and after the death of her husband, she took flamenco and dance acrobatics lessons.
As they dance, Alyosha Dixon watches Paddy and Niko with his mouth wide open as he circles the older dancer around the stage. At the same time, Amanda Dixon laughs reassuringly at the couple as they make a fantastic fall. Simon Cowell also watches open-mouthed and incredulous as the dancing granny performs all sorts of tricks and looks seductively at the crowd, as if to say, “I still get it.” David Walliams also joins the other judges in their surprise as he can only laugh and shout enthusiastically at the dancing high school student. After the performance of the duet, the judges and the audience can only applaud vigorously.
The following clip shows Nico and Paddy showing off their amazing acrobatic dance skills to the tune of “She Bangs” by Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin. Once again received applause from the judges. All performances of Paddy Jones show that she is not a one-trick pony, but an established dancer. Her movement and grace even went so far as to make her the “Oldest Acrobatic Salsa Dancer” in the Guinness Book of World Records.
