A toddler with special needs beams with joy as he tries on glasses and sees his parents’ faces for the first time… ?VIDEO

Everything changes for a baby when he first sees the faces of his parents. Jackson is a special needs child and looked overjoyed when he tried on his glasses and saw his parents’ faces for the first time. 3-year-old Jackson has a chromosomal abnormality known as DiGeorge Syndrome, specifically a 22q11.2 deletion.

He does not have a small fragment of the 22nd chromosome, which can cause multiple anomalies. Jackson has had to undergo two heart surgeries and will have at least two more in the future. He also spent the first 255 days of his life in the hospital.

His parents, Charles Emberton and Cassie Booth, said they didn’t believe their son’s eyesight was that bad. But after a second opinion, they learned of the wide variety of lenses he would need. The day finally arrived on April 13 at the Alabama Children’s Center, when Charles helped Jackson try on his new glasses for the first time. Jackson’s face immediately lit up and Charles said his reaction proved that the world was now open to him.
